Canada Warns of Freight-Rail Delays of ‘Many Weeks’
OTTAWA—Canada’s Transportation Minister stated Wednesday the state was “many, several weeks” away from a return to regular for freight-rail website traffic, after police this week dismantled a blockade that had choked off shipments from east to west.
Marc Garneau informed reporters in Ottawa the blockade, set up in an indigenous neighborhood approximately a hundred and twenty miles east of Toronto, has “definitely slowed points down” and warned penalties may not be understood for months.
