Indian marketplaces rose one per cent, propped up by the HDFC twins, as investing resumed on Tuesday after an extended weekend.

The S&P BSE Sensex hovered near 31,000 ranges, up 250 points. The Nifty50 index also surpassed nine,100 ranges.
