Over 81 per cent wheat area harvested: Government

The federal government on Sunday mentioned more than eighty one for every cent of wheat sown space has been harvested so significantly, whilst harvest of pulses and oilseeds has been completed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic predicament.

Farmers are harvesting rabi (winter) crops sown in the 2020-21 crop yr (July-June). Wheat is the principal rabi crop.

Releasing the most current knowledge, the Agriculture Ministry mentioned: “As a result of the proactive methods taken, harvesting of rabi crops is on program and timely procurement is also becoming ensured for the profit of the farmers.” Amidst the existing pandemic predicament, farmers and agriculture labourers are sweating and toiling in opposition to all adversities to make absolutely sure that foods reaches our households, it mentioned.

In scenario of wheat, the ministry mentioned about eighty one.fifty five for every cent of the total sown space of 315.80 lakh hectare has been harvested in the region.

About 99 for every cent wheat harvesting completed in Rajasthan, ninety six for every cent in Madhya Pradesh, 80 for every cent in Uttar Pradesh, sixty five for every cent in Haryana and sixty for every cent in Punjab, it mentioned.

“Harvesting is at its peak in Haryana, Punjab and UP and is possible to be completed by the finish of April 2021,” it extra.

In scenario of pulses which were being sown in 158.ten lakh hectare, harvesting has been completed for gram, lentil, urad, moong and area peas.

For sugarcane, out of the total sown space of 48.52 lakh hectare, harvesting has been completed in Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Telangana.

Up to ninety eight for every cent harvesting has been completed in Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

Whilst in Uttar Pradesh, 84 for every cent has been completed and this will continue on until mid-Could 2021.

In scenario of rice sown in 45.32 lakh hectare in the rabi time, harvesting has been completed in 18.73 lakh hectare so significantly. Rabi rice harvesting is just about total in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Amongst the oilseed crops, harvesting of rapeseed mustard has been completed 100 for every cent in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Assam.
