Rajasthan cops charge Ramdev, Patanjali MD with cheating for Covid-19 drug

The Rajasthan Police on Saturday lodged an FIR versus yoga expert Ramdev for allegedly launching an Ayurvedic drug for dealing with Covid-19 without having regulatory acceptance, a senior officer stated.

Four many others MD of Ramdev-promoted Patanjali Ayurved Acharya Balkrishna Director of Nationwide Institute of Professional medical Sciences and Analysis (NIMS), Jaipur, B S Tomar his son Anurag Tomar and senior scientist Anurag Varshney have also been named in the FIR, he stated.

Haridwar-centered Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday launched “Coronil”, saying it can heal COVID-19. It stated the drug, when taken with an additional Patanjali product, had treated all coronavirus positive sufferers who took section in a trial in seven times.

The trial, it stated, was performed in affiliation with the NIMS, a Jaipur-centered personal institute.

The licence for the drug was received on the foundation of the classic knowledge and experience similar to the medicinal virtues of Ashwagandha, Giloy and Tulsi, Patanjali spokesperson S K Tijarawala had stated.
