Start-up GRoboMac to pilot robot cotton-picking in TN this summer

Green Robotic Machinery Pvt Ltd (GRoboMac), a Bengaluru-centered farm robotics begin-up, options to pilot its battery-operated cotton choosing robot named Pragati in Tamil Nadu all around June-July for harvesting the summer crop.

“We system to deploy the four-arm edition robot as a pilot on a twelve-acre plot in Tamil Nadu,” explained Manohar Sambandam, Founding Associate and CEO, Green Robotic Machinery Pvt Ltd.

GRoboMac is also eyeing the commercialisation of Pragati in the forthcoming kharif harvest year by Oct, Sambandam explained.

The robot utilizes 3D eyesight artificial intelligence and has robotic arms custom made developed for the cotton crop. The organization is but to finalise the pricing for the equipment that is getting specific at cotton growers with land holdings of 5 hectares and earlier mentioned.

The Lithium-ion battery operated robot can pick about fifty kgs more than 10-hour period of time for every day from vegetation that are as higher as 5.5 feet.

“It will be practical for farmers with 5 hectares and earlier mentioned, who can recover the value of the equipment more than a few seasons,” he explained.

More attributes

GRoboMac, which has been functioning on building the cotton choosing equipment because 2014-fifteen, is also exploring addition of spraying capability to the robot, so that it can be utilized to have out spraying of pesticides, weedicides and foliar nourishment, he explained.

Spraying pesticides and weedicides and choosing the bolls are labour-intensive system in the cotton crop cycle, which the organization aims to handle.

A short while ago, GRoboMac has sent its to start with device of Pragati cotton choosing robot to the Countrywide Agriculture Increased Education and learning Task Centre of State-of-the-art Agricultural Science & Technological innovation (NAHEP CAAST) centre of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth at Parbhani, Maharashtra.

Advancement of investigate

This two-arm cotton choosing equipment will be utilized by NAHEP CAAST for enhancement of additional attributes and investigate at their centre and for pilot deployment of these devices in the cotton belt of Maharashtra.

“We are glad to be linked with NAHEP, Parbhani in their exertion to boost Robotics and Drone-centered agriculture mechanisation,” Sambandam explained. Also, the organization is in talks with Karnataka and Telangana for pilots of these devices.
